Vlog Post

Here is my vlog video for turns!  I am getting so close to my goal! So exciting :)

vlog from Avery Ryan on Vimeo.
Along with the vlog, here is a video showing just a bit of the practice I've been doing.  There is DEFINITELY progress made between the last video and this one!

  1. Hey Aves
Holy wow have your turns improved. The video you posted in your last blog is just amazing. I'm really happy that you finally got it down, but I'm sure you can make them better (not that they aren't super cool already)! It's really good to see that you have people around you supporting you and offering to help you through this entire process, including your dance teacher as well as your fellow dancers. Super excited for your TED talk; you're gonna be amazing.
    Keep up the good work!

  2. Your turns look amazing! I can definitely see improvements from the other videos you posted. You look more comfortable with your turns, and more balanced (probably from those core muscles). I never knew dancing was a collaborative sport, but I can see how helping each other helps each dancer become better. I can't wait to see your final product - I know it will be amazing!

  3. Avery, this is a really informing and interesting vlog! I can really relate to what you said in the beginning, about feeding off of your fellow dancers and pushing each other to do better. I know that when I run cross country, my biggest motivation is not my coach or myself, it is for my teammates. I want to stay up to par with them and I want them to continue to improve. It seems like this concept is being applied to you now with you turns. Good luck moving forward, and I can't wait to see the finished product.

  4. Being a dancer from your studio, I definitely understand what you are talking about and I can relate to feeding off other dancers from our company. I think Miss Kim is a great resource and I can tell she has helped you have improve so much! I think that it is important to get comments from other people during this project rather than keeping it all within and I'm so happy you did that because I think it will help you tremendously!! Keep up the good work Ave!!

  5. Hey Avery!!
You look very comfy in your winter coat. I can totally relate to how your dance friends have motivated you as we do that for the tennis team. I think using the tips from your instructors at the dance studios is a great idea and I know you are strong enough to do all of the core stuff. That video looks so cool and you seem so close!!!! Keep practicing and I know you will get there.
